Diocesan Pastoral Conference 2012
The Pastoral Conference of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese was held on the 13th and 14th of March 2012.
On Tuesday March 13th the cleargy of the diocese assembled at the Church of All Russian Saints, Croydon, for Matins and Confession. On Wednesday morning the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was served at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Strathfield.
Following the Divine Liturgy there was lunch in the parish hall followed by the Pastoral Conference under the presidency of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion.

Also, as the menu for the News Archive was becoming quite lengthy, it has been moved from the top menu to just below the Search box on the right hand side.

New Orthodox Church opened in Pakistan
With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion a new Orthodox church was opened in Sargodha, Pakistan on 30th January, 2012.
Rev. Father Adrian Augustus a parish priest from Sydney, Australia traveled to Pakistan to baptise and chrismate 174 people.

Maslenitsa in Newcastle, NSW
On Friday, 24 February, close to 100 people gathered in the parish hall of Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, in Wallsend, Newcastle, for an evening of festivity, folk tradition, and friendship. The parish Ladies Auxiliary, together with helpers from the wider Russian community in Newcastle, had cooked over 500 pancakes, and the tables were laden with herring, caviar, smoked salmon, sour cream and cottage cheese. Праздник в данденонгском приходе
В праздник Сретения Господня митрополит Иларион оказал честь своим присутствием данденонгскому приходу, чтобы отметить 30-летие служения митр. прот. Михаила Протопопова в должности настоятеля Богородице-Успенского храма, а также поздравить прихожан с тем, что в марте этого года отмечается 30-летие первого богослужения в новом храме.
Владыке за праздничной литургией сослужили: настоятель прихода. Митр. прот.
