On 6th and 7th January 2025, the joyous occasion of the Nativity of Christ, His Eminence George, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia, and New Zealand, presided over the divine services at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield.
His Eminence was co-served by the Cathedral clergy, while the altar was graced by 21 dedicated altar servers. The divine Liturgy began with the bishop’s vesting. Following the vesting, Vladyka George bestowed a special blessing upon three altar servers, granting them the honour of wearing the orarion.

On Monday, January 6, 2025, on the eve of the Nativity of Christ, a solemn divine service was held at the Cathedral of Sts Peter and Paul in Strathfield. The Divine Liturgy was led by His Eminence George, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand.

On December 4, 2024, Orthodox Christians celebrated the Great feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple. On this solemn day, festive services were held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield, led by His Eminence Archbishop George of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese.

The Vigil and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated in an atmosphere of prayer and reverence. Vladyka George was joined by the clergy of the Cathedral, and the faithful filled the church with their heartfelt prayers and hymns glorifying the Most Holy Theotokos.Continue Reading

On Friday, November 8, 2024, the feast day of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America died suddenly.

Archbishop Peter (in the world, Paul A. Loukianoff) was born in San Francisco in 1948, of Don Cossack ancestry. His family had lived in China before moving to San Francisco in the 1940’s. Archbishop Peter was an altar boy at the San Francisco cathedral to Archbishop Tikhon (Troitsky) and close to St. John (Maximovitch), with whom he served the last 3 years prior to St. John’s repose.Continue Reading

On the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Archbishop George of Sydney Australia and New Zealand together with His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield. The Cathedral clergy joined them in co-serving the service.
