The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic games in Paris was a vivid and most emphatic manifestation of what spirit has descended among men. Many people from across the world were left shocked, scandalised, and in disbelief watching what was unravelling before their eyes. This global event that gathers all nations from across the globe, this ‘opening’ – expressed in an unequivocal way the inauguration or affirmation of a ‘new world order’ which is antithetical to God’s order, an open declaration of who it serves, i.e, who its ‘master’ is, and who it battles against. This ‘ceremony’ was nothing less than a satanic assembly, very dark and very telling of the spiritual state the world is cataclysmically spiralling into. This worldly ‘state of affairs’ is nothing new for Orthodox Christians. The only difference is the level of brazenness with which this satanic ball was executed, all of which point to things rapidly escalating and in apocalyptic proportions. (more…)

«ТЫ ЕСИ БОГ, ТВОРЯЙ ЧУДЕСА»

В этом году у нас в приходе случилась как будто вторая Пасха — посещение мироточивой иконы Гавайской Иверской Божией Матери. Такое количество людей в церкви было только на Пасху: собрался не только весь наш приход, но и прихожане других мельбурнских храмов, пришли греки, сербы, македонцы, румыны, приехал автобус с паломниками из Аделаиды с о. Алексием Жуковым и м. Марией. Столько священства! Столько знакомых и незнакомых, но одинаково счастливых и приветливых лиц! Радостно и светло было в храме, наполнившимся сиянием сотен свечей, ароматом от чудотворной иконы, полнозвучием нашего клироса и словно укутанного любовью Самой Матери Божией. Многие старались сделать фотографии иконы, запечатлеть на видео красоту богослужения, поймать и сохранить на память удивительную атмосферу праздника. Сотни молитв, слезных прошений, просьб о помощи и защите приняла Богородица в этот вечер… Она не оставит никого без ответа.  (more…)

On 24 July 2024, the feast of Saint Olga Equal-to-the-Apostles, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at Holy Protection Church Cabramatta. Co-serving with His Eminence were, Archpriest Boris Ignatievsky (parish rector), Archpriest Serafim Gan, Archpriest Samuel Vishnevskiy, Priest Andrew Morgan, Protodeacon Eugene Kallaur and Protodeacon Basil Konstantinidis. On Friday, July 19, 2024, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York accompanied the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God “of the Sign” to Melbourne.

Greeted at the airport by the Dean of Victoria, Archpriest Michael Protopopov, His Eminence went to the city of Dandenong. There, Priest Paul Baksheev, the second priest of Dormition Parish, headed by Fr Michael, served a dinner in honor of the arrival of the wonderworking icon, the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and his entourage – read here

В пятницу, 19 июля, митрополит Восточно-Американский и Нью-Йоркский Николай, сопровождая Коренно-Курскую икону Божией Матери «Знамение», прибыл в Мельбурн.

Встреченный в аэропорту благочинным Виктории протоиереем Михаилом Протопоповым, Высокопреосвященнейший митрополит Николай направился в г. Данденонг. В воскресенье, 14 июля, в Неделю третью по Пятидесятнице, Высокопреосвященнейший митрополит Восточно-Американский и Нью-Йоркский Николай, Первоиерарх Русской Зарубежной Церкви, совершил Божественную литургию в крестовой церкви в честь Всех Святых Земли Русской при епархиальном управлении и резиденции архиепископа Сиднейского и Австралийско-Новозеландского Георгия. В Русской Зарубежной Церкви, в связи с празднованием Рождества Предтечи Господня Иоанна, празднование Собора святых Земли Русской было перенесено на Неделю третью по Пятидесятнице. Таким образом, Его Высокопреосвященство возглавил торжественные богослужения престольного праздника этой церкви – читайте здесь

В июле 2024, в Австралийско-Новозеландскую епархию пребудет чудотворная икона Божией Матери Коренно-Курская ”Знамение”. Икону будет сопровождать Высокопреосвященнейший Николай, митрополит Восточно-Американский и Нью-Йоркский, Первоиерарх Русской Зарубежной Церкви.

The Australian & New Zealand Diocesan 2024 Great Lenten Clergy Retreat was held on Tuesday, 2 April and Wednesday, 3 April. The clergy of the diocese headed by His Grace George, Bishop of Sydney Australia & New Zealand gathered at All Saints of Russia Church, Croydon Tuesday evening where matins was served. During the service, the participating clergy had an opportunity to take confession prior to receiving Holy Communion the following day. (more…)

On 31 March 2024, second Sunday of Great Lent, where the Church celebrates St Gregory Palamas, two liturgies were served at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield – English Liturgy at 7am and a Slavonic Liturgy at 9am. His Grace George, Bishop of Sydney Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Divine Liturgy at 9am. Co-serving with Bishop George were the Cathedral clergy.

During the sermon, Bishop George spoke on the Gospel reading where Christ forgave the sins of the paralytic and then healed his paralysis, demonstrating the importance of forgiveness of his sins before healing his paralysis. (more…)
