: Fifth Sunday of Great Lent and celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Repose of Saint Tikhon in Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral

On April 6, the fifth Sunday of Great Lent and the day of the Forefeast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield. The service was led by Archbishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, with the clergy of the cathedral concelebrating.

In accordance with the directive of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, all churches commemorated the 100th anniversary of the repose of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, with prayerful remembrance on this day.

In his sermon, Archbishop George spoke about the life of Saint Tikhon, highlighting his faith, humility, and devoted service to the Church during a time of great persecution and turmoil. His Eminence emphasized the spiritual legacy of the saint and encouraged the faithful to follow his example of meekness and steadfastness in the faith.

Following the Liturgy, a moleben was served in honor of Saint Tikhon.
