On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, exactly one year since the repose of Fr Seraphim Slade, the first Australian Aboriginal Orthodox priest, the house and chapel where his widow, Matushka Elena, lived in Gunning, NSW, Australia, burned down.

Divine Liturgy was celebrated on that day, after which the worshipers went to the cemetery to perform a memorial service over the late priest’s grave.

On the way back they noticed smoke over the house and discovered that it was enveloped in flames.

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Intercession Cathedral in Melbourne, Australia, celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the community. Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop George of Canberra along with the cathedral’s Dean, Mitred Protopriest Nicholas Karipoff and a multitude of clergymen from Melbourne and Sydney. Недавно три участника православного мужского хора Австралийской епархии РПЦЗ побывали в России, где вместе с хористами из России, США, Канады и Сербии участвовали в профессиональной записи духовных песнопений. Кроме выступления и записи в Саратове, наши хористы побывали в Москве, где они вместе с местными духовными хорами выступали в самых известных храмах: Успенском соборе в Кремле на патриаршей службе, в Храме Христа Спасителя, в Даниловом монастыре.

On Sunday, 18th August and Monday, 19th August the great feast of Transfiguration of our Lord, His Grace Bishop George celebrated the Divine Services at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield, NSW. Co-served with Bishop George were the cathedral clergy. Following the Divine Liturgy, according to Orthodox Christian tradition, His Grace performed the blessing of the fruit.

Today early morning, Deacon Simon Polorotov reposed in the Lord following a long illness. Fr. Simon served in St Nicholas parish, Fairfield NSW. We express our deepest condolences and prayers to Matushka Olga, children Ksenia, John and Nicholas and to his extended family.
