On Saturday, 20th May 2023, His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse, arrived at Melbourne airport where he was greeted by the Holy Protection Cathedral clergy. That evening Bishop Luke served the All-night vigil at the cathedral.

The following day, the 6th Sunday of Pascha, the healing of the blind man, His Grace was greeted at the Holy Protection Cathedral with bread and salt and officiated the Divine Liturgy. On 13th May 2023, His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville arrived in Australia to take part in the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the founding of Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Brisbane, Queensland.

On 5th March 2023, the first Sunday of Great Lent, the feast of Orthodoxy, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Divine Liturgy and the Rite of Orthodoxy at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield. On Saturday, 4th February 2023, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney Australia & New Zealand arrived at the Holy Trinity parish located at the Huon district in Tasmania which is approximately one hour drive from Hobart.

For many years the rector Fr George Morozoff conducted services in his home, on the outskirts of Hobart. It was when his father died 17 years ago, he came up with the idea to build a church on a 200-acre property belonging to his parents. Upon receiving a blessing from Metropolitan Hilarion, Fr George commenced building the church which took approximately 13 years. The church was named after the Holy Trinity as Fr George received the blessing to commence the building on the feast of the Holy Trinity.Continue Reading
