1 октября Генеральное консульство России в Сиднее посетил епископ Канберрский, викарий Австралийский–Новозеландской епархии Георгий. Во встрече приняли участие посол Российской Федерации в Австралии А.В.Павловский, Генеральный консул И.Н.Аржаев, а также ряд священников РПЦЗ. В ходе беседы, которая прошла в теплой и благожелательной атмосфере, владыка рассказал о положении дел в епархии, в том числе в контексте ограничений, вызванных пандемией коронавируса. Была отмечена важность поддержания диалога и координации усилий в деле защиты интересов наших соотечественников, проживающих в Австралии.
Три года назад у 18-летнего Нектария Котлярова, сына протодиакона Петропавловского собора в Сиднее, появилась мечта о создании мужского православного хора. К этому времени он уже несколько лет пел в церковном хоре, брал уроки пения у известных сиднейских мастеров, учился у регентов собора руководить хором. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Australia went virtual with choristers recording their parts from home, the conductor Nektary Kotlaroff and chorister Adrian Metlenko merging the audio and visual of each clip together to produce the final recording, and finally releasing on ROMCA’s social media channels. The videos produced sparked interest from musicians all around the world, in particular conductors and composers from Russia. (more…)
The feast of Orthodoxy, also known as the Sunday of Orthodoxy or the Triumph of Orthodoxy is celebrated on the first Sunday of Great Lent. This year this feast fell on Sunday, 8 March 2020.
His Grace Bishop George together with the Cathedral clergy, Archpriest George Lapardin (dean), Priest Michael Storozhev, Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff, Protodeacon Martin Naef, cleric of St Panteleimon’s church, Gosford and Deacon Michael Matys, cleric of St George’s church, Carlton celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield. Following the Liturgy, Bishop George performed the “Rite of Orthodoxy” which was intoned by Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff. (more…)
On Saturday 18th of January 2020 and Sunday 19th January 2020, His Grace Bishop George of Canberra celebrated Vigil and the Divine Liturgy at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield NSW. Following the litugy, His Grace served the rite of the Great Blessing of Waters.

On Monday, 6 January 2020 and Tuesday, 7 January 2020, His Grace George, Bishop of Canberra celebrated the great feast of the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield, NSW. Co-served with his Grace were the Cathedral clergy, Archpriest George Lapardin, dean of the Cathedral, priest Michael Storozhev and protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a festal lunch was held in the church hall where the faithful joyously congratulated each other with the feast.
