The embassy of the Russian Federation is located in one of the wealthier suburbs of Santiago. Though grand and new on the outside the embassy moreover sparkles with the Russian spirit on the inside.

One of the staff of the embassy, Roman Zaureyevich, met the archbishop and his suite of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and accompanied them to a large assembly room where they were to meet with the ambassador.Continue Reading

According to the directive of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Metropolitan Laurus, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), His Grace, the Most Reverend Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney Australia and New Zealand, the First Deputy of the First Hierarch of ROCOR, and his secretary Archpriest Michael Boikov, arrived in Santiago, the capital of Chile. Metropolitan Laurus, being concerned about the spiritual needs of the children of ROCOR who live in South America purposefully sent Vladyka Hilarion to visit the clergy and the laity in the countries of Chile, Brazil and Argentina.

At the Santiago airport Vladyka Hilarion and his travelling companion, Archpriest Michael were given a VIP welcome, with the cooperation of the customs authorities, by Priest Alexei Aedo and Dr Elizabeth Jurlow, representatives of the St. Nektarios mission.Continue Reading

On the day of the holy martyrs Hermylas and Stratonicus (Australia Day according to the secular calendar) His Eminence Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand served an English language Liturgy in the Archbishop’s Chapel of All Saints of Russia, Croydon. Serving with him were: Mitred Archpriest Michael Li, Priest James Carles, Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff and deacons Constatine Moshegov, Alexei Dyuka and David Lloyd. On the first Sunday after Nativity Christ the Saviour parish in Wellington celebrates its Feastday. This year our ruling hierarch, Vladyka Hilarion, officiated at the Divine Liturgy and was assisted by Archpriest Vladimir Boikov, Priest Lubomir Kudric (Serbian Orthodox Church), Priest Konstantin Tsourapas (Greek Orthodox Church), and Priest Ian Nield (Antiochian Orthodox Church).
