On Saturday the 9th and Sunday 10th June 2018, the feast of All Saints of Russia, the Divine services were held in Croydon NSW in honour of the parish’s names day. On Saturday evening, the All-Night Vigil was led by His Grace Bishop George of Canberra. Co-celebrating with Bishop George were priest Simon Nekipelov (rector), priest Dionysios Halim, protodeacons Alexander Kotlaroff and Constantine Moshegov.

In the early morning the following day, the lessor blessing of the waters was served by Fr. Dionysios. At 9am the clergy greeted His Grace Bishop George and the Divine Liturgy commenced. The church was full with the faithful and the choir lead by reader Lawrence Boikov sang reverently.

After the Liturgy, a festal banquet was held in the church hall and the marquee was put up to cater for those that did not fit in the hall. The sisterhood prepared plenty of delicious lenten food and everyone enjoyed the warm hospitality.Continue Reading

On Sunday, 1 April 2018 the feast day of the Lord’s Entrance into Jerusalem, His Grace Bishop George of Canberra celebrates the divine services at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral. Co-celebrating with His Grace were the cathedral dean Archpriest George Lapardin, protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff and deacon Michael Storozhev. The Cathedral was full with the faithful and the choir lead by Andrei Laptev sang reverently.

At the completion of the liturgy, Bishop George congratulated protodeacon Alexander with his 20th anniversary serving as a deacon. Many years was intoned.Continue Reading

On 18 March 2018, the 4th Sunday of Great Lent, an unusually warm autumn day for the nation’s capital, His Grace Bishop George of Canberra celebrated the divine services at St John the Baptist Cathedral Canberra.

This was a special day as Bishop George tonsured and ordained a new generation of clerics to serve at the St. John the Baptist Cathedral and the St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Mission in Gunning respectively.

During the reading of the hours, Andrew Dobson and Sergei Sheh were tonsured into readers. Reader Stephen David was ordained into a subdeacon then following the Eucharistic canon subdeacon Stephen was ordained into the diaconate.Continue Reading

On the 3rd Sunday of Great Lent when the Church commemorates the Holy Cross, His Grace Bishop George served the divine services at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield. Co-serving with His Grace were, Archpriest George Lapardin, dean of the cathedral, Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff, Deacon Michael Storozhev, clerics of the cathedral and Deacon Paul Tokareff cleric of St Nicholas church Adelaide.
