Ваше Святейшество! Ваши Высокопреосвященства! Ваши Преосвященства!
Подписанный всего лишь год назад Акт о каноническом общении внутри Русской Православной Церкви заложил, наконец, по милости Божией, основу правильных и новых отношений между Русской Церковью на родине и заграницей. И ныне мы, зарубежные архиереи, приветствуем своих собратьев на исторической родине нашей Церкви. Впервые мы участвуем в Архиерейском Соборе в Москве. Уповаем, что участие это будет плодотворным. Мы приехали сюда с надеждой, что совместная работа на соборе укрепит наше единство как в церковно-каноническом, так и в личном плане.
Для нас многое будет здесь непривычным, новым, быть может, даже непонятным. Архиерейская семья Зарубежной Церкви ныне совсем невелика, но даже несколько лет тому назад она насчитывала всего лишь около 20 человек. Естественно, что в таком тесном кругу можно обсуждать разные вопросы, возникающие в церковной жизни, значительно обстоятельней и глубже, нежели это возможно в сонме около 200 архиереев. Но мы постараемся свыкнуться с той обстановкой, которую здесь встретим и участвовать в созидательной соборной работе, сознавая свою ответственность перед Богом и Его Церковью.Continue Reading

If you are aged 28 years or younger, sing or are interested in singing in your parish choir and wish to attend the 5th Choral Conference, then you may be eligible to receive financial assistance to help with some of the costs e.g. airfare or other transport. All you have to do is email or telephone the details requested below to see if you are eligible. You may apply even if all of your travel and registration costs have already been finalised. The 5th Choral Music Conference will be held at the Holy Protection Church (Cabramatta) and the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul (Strathfield) from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th July, 2008. The conference coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the restoration of Saint Daniel’s Monastery in Moscow. This year the choir from Saint Daniel’s Monastery will be in Australia at the time of the conference and will be in attendance at divine services.Continue Reading
THE CHOIR OF DANILOV MONASTERY
For the First time in Australia – Direct from Moscow
After acclaimed performances throughout Europe and the US, the celebrated choir from the ancient Danilov Monastery will launch an unprecedented Australian Good Will Tour this July. The Choir of Danilov Monastery will make its Australian debut in a one-afternoon only engagement at St James’ Anglican Church (King Street, Sydney CBD) on Sunday, July 6th at 3:00 p.m. Under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Georgy Safonov, the 12-man a cappella chamber choir will offer a program of Byzantine and Russian chants, folk songs, patriotic songs and Russian romances.
Following the Sydney engagement, the choir will be performing in Melbourne at All Saints Anglican Church St Kilda (cnr Chapel Street and Dandenong Road East St Kilda) on Thursday 10th of July at 8pm.
The Choir is undertaking this tour of Australia in celebration of the reunification of the Russian Orthodox Church with the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia, the enthronement of Archbishop Hilarion (Kapral) of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand as the Metropolitan and First Hierarch of Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the restoration of Danilov Monastery.Continue Reading
