3 Aug 07: Upcoming Saint Panteleimon Parish Feast Day, Gosford
Dear friends,
Our patronal feast at Gosford – that of the Holy Great-Martyr and Healer Panteleimon – falls this year on Thursday August 9th. We will serve Matins on the preceding evening at 7.00pm, with Divine Liturgy on the feast-day itself at 9.00am.
Our main celebrations will be held the following weekend. Vigil with the blessing of loaves and wheat, wine and oil will be served at 6.00pm on the evening of Saturday August 11th. God willing, Archbishop Hilarion will visit our parish on Sunday August 12th, bringing with him the precious Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God. The lesser blessing of water will be served at 8.15am, and we will greet Vladyka and the icon at 9.00am. There will be a festive lunch in a hall up at Mount Penang Parklands (near Kariong, not far from the F3, and overlooking Brisbane Water) immediately after the service, and all are invited – indeed, encouraged! – to be present on this special occasion in the life of our Gosford parish.
