: Talk by Archimandrite Themistocles – Croydon, Sunday 29th of July

His Grace Archbishop Hilarion
invites all Orthodox Christians to attend a talk to be given by

Archimandrite Themistocles
of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Kenya, Patriarchate of Alexandria

at 5pm on Sunday 29th July 2007
at the Church Hall of All Saints of Russia Russian Orthodox Church,
Chelmsford Avenue, Croydon

Archimandrite Themistocles, better known as Father Themi, is an Australian born cleric of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. A gifted and renowned speaker and educator, he is well known in Orthodox Church circles in Australia, and for a time was a well respected member of the academic staff of St Andrews Greek Orthodox Seminary, Redfern in Sydney. Father Themi subsequently felt called to serve as a missionary and travelled to Kenya where he now supervises a number of projects for the Greek Orthodox Diocese there.

Father Themi will present a film about Orthodox missionary work in East Africa, particularly in his Diocese of Kenya, and will give a talk about his work after which there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The talk will be followed by a supper and an opportunity to speak informally with Father Themi.

N.B. A collection will be taken to support Father Themi’s work in Kenya. Please give generously to help spread the Gospel of Christ in Africa.
