From November 7th 2025, with the blessing of Archbishop George, the miraculous myrrh-streaming icon of the Mother of God “Softener of Evil Hearts” will be visiting Australia for veneration at its parishes throughout the Australian and New Zealand Diocese of ROCOR.
Brief Information on the Icon of the Mother of God “Softener of Evil Hearts”:
The icon began streaming myrrh in 1998, on the day of the glorification of Blessed Matrona of Moscow. Then, on August 12, 2000, the day of the Kursk nuclear submarine tragedy, bruises appeared on the icon. Subsequently, blood began appearing on it before other tragic events. Over time, believers began to report miracles associated with the icon.
It’s surprising that the icon of the Mother of God “Softener of Evil Hearts” was printed at the Sofrino factory and purchased in a regular church shop. It is famous not only in Russia but also abroad. The icon has visited virtually every major city in the country, as well as America, Europe, Australia, and Mount Athos. The icon continues to stream myrrh to this day.

Протоиерей Александр Скорик, помощник настоятеля храмов Воскресения Христова, Христа Спасителя и настоятель миссии святителя Нектария в Новозеландском благочинии, мирно скончался 25 октября 2025 г в Окланде, Новая Зеландия, в возрасте 48 лет.
Он родился в городе Армянске (Крым) в 1977 году и был крещен в младенчестве в честь святого благоверного князя Александра Невского. Успешно окончив Севастопольский государственный технологический университет по специальности «инженер-механик», он поступил в Московскую духовную семинарию в 2000 году. (more…)
12 Oct 25: Австралийско-Новозеландский Епархиальный Певческий Съезд — Стратфилд 2025
С 8 по 12 октября 2025 года комитет церковной музыки Австралийско-Новозеландской епархии Русской Православной Церкви Заграницей провёл епархиальный певческий съезд в кафедральном соборе святых первоверховных апостолов Петра и Павла в Стратфилде. В съезде приняли участие более 50 человек разного возраста и уровня подготовки, прибывших из приходов по всей епархии. Участники с радостью и воодушевлением вновь собрались вместе, чтобы учиться, общаться и петь.
Программа съезда включала практические занятия и мастер-классы, посвящённые нотной грамоте, вокальной технике, дирижированию, а также чтению в храме. Под руководством опытных регентов и преподавателей участники смогли углубить свои знания и укрепить навыки, необходимые для богослужебного пения. (more…)
12 Oct 25: Diocesan Liturgical Music Conference – Strathfield 2025
The Australian and New Zealand Russian Orthodox Diocesan Music Committee held a Liturgical Music Conference from 8–12 October 2025 at Sts Peter and Paul Diocesan Cathedral, Strathfield. The event brought together over 50 participants of all ages and singing levels from parishes across the diocese. The participants were filled with joy and enthusiasm to once again gather, learn, and sing together.The conference program featured a series of practical workshops covering a range of essential liturgical music skills, including note reading, vocal technique, conducting, and liturgical reading. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants were able to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their service in church choirs.

26 и 27 сентября Высокопреосвященнейший Георгий, Aрхиепископ Сиднейский и Австралийско-Новозеландски, возглавил торжественное богослужение по случаю праздника Воздвижения Честного и Животворящего Креста Господня в кафедральном соборе святых апостолов Петра и Павла в Стратфилде. Его Высокопреосвященству сослужили клирики кафедрального собора. По окончании всенощного бдения, Архиепископ Георгий совершил чин Воздвижения Креста Господня.27 Sep 25: His Eminence Archbishop George Celebrates the feast of the Elevation of the Cross at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral
On the 26th and 27th of September, His Eminence George, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, presided over the celebration of the Feast of the Elevation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield. Concelebrating with His Eminence were the Cathedral clergy.The celebration began with the festal vigil. At the conclusion of the vigil, His Eminence performed the Rite of the Elevation of the Cross.
