10 Aug 16: His Grace Bishop George Celebrates The Patronal Feast of Saint Panteleimon in Gosford
On Friday 5 August and Saturday 6 August we had festive services in anticipation of the feast of our patron saint, the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, on 9 August. Prior to the services, our small church was beautifully decorated with flowers by Ekaterina Waters.
On Friday evening All-night Vigil with the blessing of wheat, wine, oil and five loaves was served by the rector of the Archbishop’s Chapel of All Saints of Russia (Croydon, NSW), Priest Simon Nekipelov, and by our parish deacon, Father Martin Naef. Joining them for the litia and the polyeleos were our parish rector, Priest James Carles, and Priest Dionysios Halim of Saint John the Baptist Skete (Kentlyn, NSW). (more…)
11 Aug 15: Saint Panteleimon Church, Gosford, celebrated its Feast Day
On Sunday 9 August 2015 Saint Panteleimon parish in West Gosford, NSW, celebrated its annual parish feast day.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace, Bishop George of Canberra, together with the rector Priest James Carles, parish deacon Father Martin Naeff and visiting clergymen.
Afterwards, a lunch for all attending was organised by the parish sisterhood at a nearby hall in East Gosford. (more…)
4 Sep 14: The Gosford Parish Celebrated the Feast of its Heavenly Protector, The Great-Martyr and Healer Panteleimon
On Friday 8 August and Saturday 9 August 2014 the Gosford parish celebrated the feast of its heavenly protector, the Great-Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, and formally observed ten years of parish life in the small church at West Gosford.
On the Friday evening His Grace Bishop George of Mayfield, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, presided at All-night Vigil with the blessing of five loaves, wheat, wine and oil. Concelebrating were the parish rector, Priest James Carles, together with Protodeacon German Polorotoff (Saint Nicholas, Fairfield), parish deacon Father Martin Naef, and Deacon Vasilli Konstantinidis (Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, Rocklea, QLD). The choir sang under the direction of long-serving choir conductor, Olga Ivanovna Itsikson, and many parishioners and friends were present for the service. (more…)
27 Aug 13: Saint Panteleimon Church, Gosford, Feast Day
Friday 9 August was the day of commemoration of the heavenly protector of the Gosford parish, the Holy Great-Martyr and Healer Panteleimon. As in previous years, the services to observe this day were transferred to the closest Friday evening and Saturday morning – in 2013, the evening of the feast, Friday 9 August, and Saturday 10 August.
On Friday evening, the All-night Vigil with the blessing of five loaves and wheat, wine and oil was served by the parish rector, Priest James Carles. A large number of parishioners and friends were there, and many took the opportunity to confess in preparation to receive Holy Communion. (more…)
26 Sep 12: Invitation – Saint Panteleimon Parish Picnic
For some years now Gosford parishioners of all ages have gathered on the Monday of the October Long Weekend for a parish picnic day and BBQ at Heazlett Park, Avoca Beach. These picnic days have been a great success, with friends from Sydney and Newcastle often joining us.
Heazlett Park is between Avoca Drive and the lagoon, and has a large playing area, plenty of shady trees, a skate ramp, and amenities. There are also canoes and paddle boats to hire close by. We plan to gather again this year on Monday 1 October.
All are welcome to join us, and encouraged to do so!

26 Sep 12: Saint Panteleimon Church, Gosford, Feast Day
This year, the parish of the Holy Great-Martyr and Unmercenary Healer Panteleimon, in West Gosford on the NSW Central Coast, had services in honour of its patron saint on the Saturday after the feast. On the evening of Friday 10 August All-Night Vigil was served, with the blessing of loaves, wheat, wine and oil. It was a cold and wet night, and there were very few people in church.
The next morning, Saturday 11 August, a moleben with the blessing of water was served inside the church. Archbishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe then arrived to preside at Divine Liturgy, and was greeted at the church doors by the parish rector, Priest James Carles. (more…)
