On Sunday, 25 September 2022, the Apodosis of the Nativity of the Theotokos, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, celebrated his first Divine Liturgy as the ruling bishop of this diocese at Sts Peter and Paul’s Cathedral in Strathfield. Co-serving with His Grace were the cathedral clergy.
Following the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Ukase from the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, appointing Bishop George as the seventh ruling bishop of the Australian and New Zealand diocese was read and many years was intoned. (more…)

On Wednesday, 21 September, 2022, the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, during deliberations on the expansion of the episcopacy and clergy, appointed His Grace Bishop George of Canberra Ruling Bishop of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand with the title “of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand.

Завершившийся в среду, 21 сентября, Архиерейский Собор Русской Зарубежной Церкви, в ходе обсуждения вопросов связанных с пополнением епископата и клира, определил назначить Преосвященного епископа Канберрского Георгия правящим архиереем Австралийско-Новозеландской епархии с титулом «Сиднейский и Австралийско-Новозеландский».

On Sunday, 28 March 2021, the second week of Great Lent, His Grace Bishop George of Canberra was invited to concelebrate the Divine Liturgy with His Grace Bishop Siluan of Australia and New Zealand of the Serbian Orthodox Church at St. Sava’s College, Varroville NSW.
Co-serving with the hierarchs were clerics of the Serbian Orthodox Church Archpriests: Nikola Bilić, Sasa Stojanović, and Goran Ćećez, Protodeacon Petar Mrakić, Deacon Miloš and Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff cleric of St’s Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield (ROCOR). (more…)

В воскресенье, когда Церковь отмечает неделю о Блудном сыне, в Богородице-Успенском храме состоялась Архиерейская служба.
По традиции встречали Преосвященнейшего Георгия, епископа Канберрского, с хлебом-солью, которые преподнес староста прихода Николай Школа. Путь Владыки до храма был усыпан лепестками роз. (more…)

On Friday the 4th of December 2020, the feast of the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple, His Grace Bishop George celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God parish, in Rocklea QLD. During the Divine Liturgy, His Grace ordained subdeacon Erich Fein to the diaconate.
The following Sunday, 6th of December 2020, Bishop George celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St Nicholas Cathedral, Brisbane QLD. During the 6th Hour, His Grace tonsured John Strelkov a Reader and during the Small Entrance, he awarded the rector of the Cathedral, Archpriest Gabriel Makarov the right to wear the mitre and Priest Andrew Smith, rector of the Holy Annunciation parish, the right to wear the purple skoufia. After the Cherubic Hymn, His Grace ordained deacon Erich Fein to the priesthood. Priest Erich Fein, has been assigned to the St John the Baptist Orthodox Mission, Toowoomba QLD. (more…)

В прошедшие выходные Брисбен посетил владыка Георгий и рукоположил сначала в диаконы, а потом и в иереи, прихожанина англоязычного Благовещенского прихода Эрика Фейна.
Отец Эрик родился в США в религиозной протестантской семье. Он служил в Американских ВВС, но ушёл из армии чтобы продолжить учёбу.
После переезда в Аделаиду по работе, Эрик пришёл к Православию и там же он и его семья приняли Крещение.
В 2014 году они переехали в Тувумбу, Квинсленд где стали одними из основателей православной общины, которая впоследствии станет православной миссией имени святого Иоанна Крестителя. С 2019 года учится в православном институте святых Кирилла и Мефодия. После рукоположения он будет служить в родной общине в Тувумбе.
