All Night Vigil – Sunday 27 July 2008:
The altar cross from the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Mother of God, the “Surety of Sinners”, in Shanghai, China (the cathedral where Saint Archbishop John served when he was Archbishop of Shanghai) was found, recognised and rescued from amongst a pile of various items at a market stall near the cathedral in Shanghai by a former parishoner who was visiting the city recently and presented to His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion on the occasion of the 1,020 year Anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’ and the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the Saint Vladimir parish:
