“Evangelism in Russia today”

Reverend Father Dr Sergey Shirokov

Father Sergey Shirokov is a renowned Church historian who specialises in the history of Russian Orthodox evangelism and missionary work.

Ordained in 1985 he currently serves in the Moscow parish of St Clement of Rome. Father Sergey founded and heads the Centre of Mission Studies under the Institute of Social and Religious Research, Russian Academy of Science. He has authored works on St Innocent of Moscow, the Alaskan Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Biographical Dictionary of Missionaries of the Russian Orthodox Church. His newest published work is the Life of St  Macarius (Glukhev), missionary of the Altai.

The Lecture will be delivered in English.

Opportunity will be given  to ask questions of Father Sergey and supper will be provided at the conclusion of the Lecture.
