23 Nov 11: Holy Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God visits Saint George Church, Carlton
On Friday 18 November 2011 the Holy Kursk-Root Icon was brought to the Saint George Church in Carlton.
Abbot Kosmas led the celebration of the Supplicatory Canon (Moleben) to the Holy Theotokos and the Blessing of the Five Loaves. A short sermon followed along with the veneration of the Holy Icon and the distribution of the blessed loaves and a print of the icon. Afterwards an Akathist to the Kursk-Root Icon was served in English for those who wished to stay.
