19 Jan 25: Крещения Господня в Петропавловском Кафедральном соборе в Стратфилде / Theophany at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield
19 января, в день праздника Крещения Господня, Высокопреосвященнейший Георгий, Архиепископ Сиднейский и Австралийско-Новозеландский, совершил Всенощное бдение, Божественную Литургию и чин Великого освящения воды в Петропавловском кафедральном соборе в Стратфилде.
Архиепископу Георгию сослужило духовенство собора. Праздничное богослужение сопровождалось великолепным пением хора под управлением Андрея Лаптева.
Служба собрала большое количество верующих и многие причастились Святых Христовых Тайн.
Чин Великого освящения воды, символизирует воспоминание крещения Иисуса Христа в водах реки Иордан. Освященная вода является святыней, к которой верующие с благоговением относятся, принимая ее с верой в ее целительную силу для души и тела. По завершении богослужения все получили святую воду.
On January 19, The Great Feast of Theophany, His Eminence George, Archbishop of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, celebrated the All-Night Vigil, the Divine Liturgy, and the rite of the Great Blessing of Water at the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield.
Archbishop George was joined by the clergy of the Cathedral. The festive service was accompanied by the beautiful singing of the choir under the direction of Andrei Laptev.
The service gathered a large number of faithful and many received Holy Communion.
The Great Blessing of Water, commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ in the waters of the Jordan River. The blessed water is a sacred gift, venerated by the faithful, who receive it with faith in its healing power for both soul and body. At the end of the service, everyone was able to fill their bottles with the blessed water and take it home.
