: The Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield

On December 4, 2024, Orthodox Christians celebrated the Great feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple. On this solemn day, festive services were held at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield, led by His Eminence Archbishop George of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese.

The Vigil and the Divine Liturgy were celebrated in an atmosphere of prayer and reverence. Vladyka George was joined by the clergy of the Cathedral, and the faithful filled the church with their heartfelt prayers and hymns glorifying the Most Holy Theotokos.

Vladyka George delivered a sermon in which he highlighted the spiritual significance of the feast. He emphasised that this celebration reminds the faithful of the importance of dedicating oneself to God from a young age, as exemplified in the life of the Most Holy Virgin Mary. Her consecration to the temple served as an example of complete trust in God’s will and Her preparation for the great mission of becoming the Mother of the Savior.
