10 Jun 23: St John of Kronstadt Academy
With the blessing of His Grace, Bishop George, an important project is underway to establish the first Orthodox school in Brisbane and the first classical Orthodox school in Australia – the St John of Kronstadt Academy. This project is being led by Fr Stephen David from Holy Annunciation with the aim of being open to students from Preparatory to Year 3 in 2024, subject to formal accreditation. (more…)
23 May 23: His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse Melbourne visit
On Saturday, 20th May 2023, His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse, arrived at Melbourne airport where he was greeted by the Holy Protection Cathedral clergy. That evening Bishop Luke served the All-night vigil at the cathedral.
The following day, the 6th Sunday of Pascha, the healing of the blind man, His Grace was greeted at the Holy Protection Cathedral with bread and salt and officiated the Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with Bishop Luke were the cathedral clergy, Archpriests: Nicholas Karipoff, cathedral rector, Nicholas Dalinkiewicz, Peter Sheko, Priest Mark Woloszyn, Protodeacon Alexander Abramoff and visiting clergy Archpriest Peter Shashkoff. 17 May 23: His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse Sydney visit
On 13th May 2023, His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville arrived in Australia to take part in the celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the founding of Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Brisbane, Queensland.
Our long-awaited guest flew into Sydney airport on a crisp and cool autumn morning to be greeted by His Grace Bishop George of Sydney Australia and New Zealand and other clergy. (more…)

At 7:45am on Saturday, 13 May 2023, His Grace Bishop Luke of Syracuse, Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese and Rector of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville arrived in Australia.
Bishop Luke was invited by His Grace Bishop George of Sydney Australia and New Zealand to participate in the festivities marking the 100 year anniversary of St Nicholas Cathedral in Brisbane scheduled for 27th and 28th May. (more…)

7 Mar 23: His Grace Bishop George celebrates the Sunday of Orthodoxy at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral Strathfield
On 5th March 2023, the first Sunday of Great Lent, the feast of Orthodoxy, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Divine Liturgy and the Rite of Orthodoxy at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Strathfield. Concelebrating with His Grace were the Cathedral dean, Archpriest George Lapardin, Protod. Alexander Kotlaroff and Protod. Martin Naef. The choir was led by Andrei Laptev with great inspiration. 25 Feb 23: His Grace Bishop George celebrates the Divine Services at the Holy Trinity Parish in Tasmania
On Saturday, 4th February 2023, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney Australia & New Zealand arrived at the Holy Trinity parish located at the Huon district in Tasmania which is approximately one hour drive from Hobart.
For many years the rector Fr George Morozoff conducted services in his home, on the outskirts of Hobart. It was when his father died 17 years ago, he came up with the idea to build a church on a 200-acre property belonging to his parents. Upon receiving a blessing from Metropolitan Hilarion, Fr George commenced building the church which took approximately 13 years. The church was named after the Holy Trinity as Fr George received the blessing to commence the building on the feast of the Holy Trinity. (more…)

On 18th and 19th of January 2023, the great feast of Theophany, His Grace Bishop George of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand celebrated the divine services at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral, Strathfield. Co-served with His Grace were the cathedral clergy. Following the Divine Liturgy, Bishop George served the Great Blessing of the Waters.
