The celebration of the Great Feast of the Nativity of our Lord at All Saints Church, Kentlyn, was blessed with the concelebration of a number of priests from the Indonesian deanery of the Australian and New Zealand Diocese together with the local parish clergy.
On the Great Feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the All-Night Vigil on the eve of the feast and the Divine Liturgy on the day of the feast were celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral together with cathedral and visiting clergy. On Sunday, 30th December 2012, the participants of the Youth Syezd attended the Divine Liturgy at St Nicholas Cathedral, Brisbane.
The liturgy was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad and sung antiphonally by a male choir and a youth choir. His Eminence was co-served by the local clergy and clergy from different parts of the Diocese. On the 6th hour, reader Alexander Paramonov was elevated to the rank of subdeacon and during the Little Entrance, His Eminence awarded priests John Weir and Gabriel Lapardin the right to wear the skufia. On Saturday, the 29th of December 2012, the participants of the Youth Syezd attended the All Night Vigil at St Seraphim’s Parish, Brisbane. The vigil was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad and sung by a male choir made up of clergy and parishioners from the 4 parishes in Brisbane. His Eminence was co-served by the local clergy and clergy from different parts of the diocese. The service was followed by a meal in the newly renovated church hall catered by the sisterhood. (more…)
On 6/19 December 2012, the feast day of Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Brisbane – named in his honour – celebrated it’s Parish Feast Day.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by all of the clergy of the Queensland deanery.

On 10/23 December 2012, the 29th Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, served the Divine Liturgy together with the cathedral clergy – Archpriest George Lapardin and Protodeacon Alexander Kotlaroff.
After the liturgy, the sisterhood held a lunch for the clergy and members of the parish council in honour of Vladyka’s return. (more…)
Singing at only its third service, the multi-parish Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Brisbane ably rose to the challenge of singing at its first English-language service. The Vigil service, commemorating Great-Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, was held at Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church and attracted a large number of visitors who were able to pray with an exceptional standard of liturgical singing, sung in the language of this land. 27 октября на Голд Косте в сербском Богородице-Успенском храме священники сербской и русской православной церкви отслужили совместную торжественную литургию. На службе присутствовали прихожане сербской церкви, брисбенских храмов и русской общины Кирилла и Мефодия Голд Коста.
После причастия состоялось торжественное освещение хлебов. В завершении службы священники сербской и русской церкви поздравили всех присутствующих с праздником, отметив, что Сербию и Россию связывает многолетняя дружба, укрепляемая православной верой, уважением и взаимной помощью. (more…)
