Архиерейский Синод на своем заседании в пятницу, 9 декабря 2011 года, выслушал доклад Казначея, в котором он коснулся вопроса содержания и ремонта здания Архиерейского Синода на Парк Авеню в г. Нью-Йорке.
Здание превосходное, но его содержание и постоянный ремонт требуют больших средств, которыми Архиерейский Синод не располагает. А предлагаемые в прошлом проекты ремонта здания и его содержания не соответствовали нуждам Архиерейского Синода.Continue Reading
Statement from the Chancery of the Synod of Bishops
The Synod of Bishops, at its meeting on Friday, December 9, 2011, heard a report by the Synod Treasurer in which he discussed the maintenance and renovation of the building of the Synod of Bishops on Park Avenue in New York.
The building is magnificent, but demands enormous resources for its upkeep and constant renovation, which the Synod of Bishops does not possess. The previously-proposed projects of renovating and maintaining the building did not correspond to the needs of the Synod of Bishops.Continue Reading

On November 17, 2011, the first meeting was held in Moscow by the working group on Church unity as the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion approaches.
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate hosted the meeting, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Ilarion of Volokolamsk. This body was formed by His Holiness at the request of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.Continue Reading
