The members of the 2nd Episcopal Assembly of all canonical Orthodox Bishops of Oceania welcomed once again the opportunity to meet in Sydney from October 16-17, 2011, under the chairmanship ex officio of His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia.
The Assembly commenced with prayer at the central offices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, Redfern.
Present were: His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos (Ecumenical Patriarchate – Australia), His Eminence Metropolitan Paul (Antiochian Patriarchate), His Grace Bishop Irinej (Serbian Church), His Grace Bishop Mihail (Romanian Church), His Eminence Metropolitan Amphilochios (Ecumenical Patriarchate – New Zealand), His Grace Bishop Ezekiel (Assistant Bishop), His Grace Bishop Seraphim (Assistant Bishop), His Grace Bishop Nikandros (Assistant Bishop), His Grace Bishop Iakovos (Assistant Bishop), the Very Rev. Father Michael Protopopov (representing His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church) who read a letter of greeting from His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion) and Rev. 27 Sep 11: Новости – Курско-Коренная икона Божией Матери сейчас находится в Курске
25 сентября, в отдание праздника Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы, по древней традиции чудотворную икону Божией Матери «Знамение» Курскую-Коренную крестным ходом перенесли из монастыря Коренная пустынь в Знаменский кафедральный собор.
Чудотворная икона Божией Матери «Знамение» Курская-Коренная в третий раз принесена на курскую землю: в сентябре 2009 года Святейший Патриарх Московский и всея Руси Кирилл впервые, после девяностолетнего пребывание чудотворного образа за рубежом, осенил курскую землю чудотворным образом Божией Матери «Знамение» Курская-Коренная; в мае прошлого года святыня пребывала в Курске во время летнего крестного хода и была торжественно перенесена в Курский Коренной Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы мужской монастырь. 24 сентября сего года святыня была принесена в Коренную пустынь из Казахстана. 25 Sep 11: Invitation – first-ever Russian Orthodox Teen Retreat
With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion the first Russian Orthodox Teen Retreat will be held for teens in grades 9 – 12. The retreat will be held this summer, beginning in the late afternoon on Monday December 19 and finishing on the morning of Friday December 23 2011.

A choral concert part of the 2011 concert series presented by the Sacred Music Centre of St Mary Star of the Sea.
The program will be shared by two outstanding Melbourne-based choirs specialising in the performance and promotion of music of the Eastern Christian churches.
The concert will close the 6th Russian Liturgical Music National Conference and will be devoted to works by the Conference’s keynote speaker, Fr Ivan Moody and his teacher Sir John Tavener. (more…)
20 Jun 11: Repose of Hieromonk Panteleimon (Lake)
Please be advised that Hieromonk Panteleimon (Lake) reposed in the Lord yesterday morning at 8.00am (local time, West Timor, Indonesia). Hieromonk Panteleimon was a cleric of the Indonesian Deanery (Indonesian Orthodox Church) of the Australia and New Zealand Diocese.
He will be buried Monday, June 20 in his home village in Nilulat-Kefamenanu – 230 km East of Kupangand. We ask you to pray for the soul of the newly departed Hieromonk Panteleimon.
